The First Women Awards 2009 were held in association with Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets and supported by the CBI.

Competing in the largest category and up against numerous prestigious, multinational companies, many of whom are household names, Angela Mortimer Plc was successful in winning the Business Services Award.

Established in 2005, by Real Business magazine and the CBI. The First Women Awards celebrate trailblazing and pioneering women, who are in business, and are genuine "glass ceiling breakers". The awards aim to unearth women whose achievement and individual actions have helped and are helping to remove barriers and open up opportunities for others to follow.

Angela in her acceptance of the award thanked her clients for their loyalty, her consultants for their integrity and all those thousands of women over the last 33 years who have worked to build and safeguard the business reputation as a market leader.

Compere, judge, entrepreneur and author Margaret Heffernan, described Angela as:

"...an accomplished entrepreneur who has also encouraged her clients to adopt the same, positive attitude towards women in the workplace, championing their contribution and challenging outdated attitudes....

She’s also a great example of a First Woman who is squaring up to the recession to ensure her business retains its market prominence."

Angela Mortimer was also commended for her contributions to business in the PwC Lifetime Achievement Award.
